Duke Energy Conducting Tree Trimming in the City

City of Winter Garden Banner in black and white

A Message from Duke Energy:

Duke Energy will be conducting tree trimming in your area beginning June 1, 2020. We work to balance aesthetics with our goal to provide safe, reliable power to the households and businesses that depend on us. Now more than ever, energy has become a critical part of our daily lives. Trees are a main source of outages. It is our responsibility to ensure power lines are clear of vegetation and other obstructions.

Even a brief interruption can cause a big disruption to your daily routine. As hurricane season begins, we are focused on storm progressive tree care practices to help minimize outages during storms.

However, we still work to balance the need for reliable electric power with sensitivity for the environment and tree health. Tree crews use a technique known as directional pruning, which is endorsed by The National Arbor Day Foundation and the International Society of Arboriculture. Qualified employees are supervised by certified arborists. Duke Energy Florida has been recognized for its tree care practices with the distinctive Tree Line USA designation from The National Arbor Day Foundation for 12 consecutive years. More information about our pruning techniques and vegetation management can be found on our website.

Before works begin, Duke Energy will notify you with a door hanger. If you have any questions regarding this specific project, please contact Pablo Galvan at 407-408-4893. If you have other questions for us at Duke Energy that may not be related to project, please call our Customer Care Center at 800.700.8744.

As part of this community and as a provider of an essential service, we are determined to continue delivering the reliable power you need while helping to protect the health and safety of our employees, neighbors and everyone around us. Learn more about our response to COVID-19 at

We look forward to working with you and the City of Winter Garden.
